But why? Why are feminists acting like animals and being so hateful? I may not know the answers to "Why" but I can give comments on HOW they are acting.
Let's first start off with what "feminism" means. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary online, feminism is the "belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests". to put it into simpler terms, it's a belief system for equality among the sexes, usually on the women's side of things. In the past, this definition can apply.
A memorable event in the name of feminism, in general, would be Florance Nightingale. She was the first professional Nurse. Susan B. Anthony is another feminist icon, who helped women earn the right to vote. In WWII, women were able to join the workforce. They were encouraged and do so to help do their part during the war. These were all advances in the equal rights we have today. However, is there anything that needs changing today?
If anything, we women actually have more advantages than men, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's first point out some modern-day feminist ideals. One big thing that comes up is the "wage gap". There is no more wage gap. There hasn't been a wage gap for many many years. The only way there is a "wage gap" is when there happens to be a man with a HIGHER POSITION in the workplace. At my work, I get paid the same as my male peers, except for those who have a higher position in the workforce. That is normal. Yes sometimes there is a sexist jerk who will pay the women less than me, but one could always stand up and even sue the jerk for discrimination.
Another point the modern day feminists like to make is in the debate on abortion. I'm not going to go into details about abortion itself, but more about what feminists like to say about it. The biggest thing is the fact they feel "empowered" to get an abortion. However, it more so dehumanizes the would-be-future women and really doesn't empower them at all. There are many negative side effects that abortion has on women. Abortions can cause mental health problems, such as depression, eating disorders, or substance abuse. Abortions can even cause physical problems to the mother, such as infection, damage to organs, and even death. Women are made to be more empathetic, and the abortions make them much more cold-hearted, especially to the baby growing inside them. Abortion hurts women more than helping them.
Something I have noticed about modernday feminism/feminists is the Me Too movement. Though it sounds like a good idea, I'll give credit to that, but it's not needed. The reason why is that all women are believed right away already, and it gives them the opportunity to do false rape or abuse accusations.
I knew someone who was falsy accused of forcing his ex-girlfriend nudes or inappropriate pictures. They were in about 7th-8th grade at the time, and the guy was accused AFTER they broke up. Everyone believed her, but it turned out to be false. The girl was given NO punishment, and the guy's reputation was ruined.
I remember reading about how a male was accused at college of raping a girl. It was false and his life was ruined forever. The woman did not receive punishment as well. I sadly cannot find the source, but I will add it when I find it again.
There was a 15-year-old boy who was falsely accused and sent to jail for a year. The girl admitted to lying and NOTHING happened to her. I found the source via Reddit as it had the link, but alas the article was deleted... That's very suspicious. YOu can see the Reddit here.
Amber Heard is a very well-known example of false allegations. She accused her ex-husband Johnny Depp of physical and sexual abuse. Everyone was on Amber's side, and Johnny's reputation and career were tarnished. That was until he sued her for defamation of character. We learned she was the one abused and she only got a slap on the wrist. Yes, she was ridiculed on the internet, but there was no serious punishment. The only update I know of personally is that Amber Heard cannot pay the settlement.
Going on with Amber Heard being an abuser, women make fun of men or invalidate the men who have been abused. If feminists truly wanted equality, they would be considerate of the man when they hear of the abuse. Instead, women say "You probably deserved it." or "It's not as bad as women!" If you are worried about women getting raped or men getting abused you're not or equality.
Going with Amber getting away with her abuse with nothing but a slap on the wrist, reminds me of this Dr. Phil episode. You don't have to watch the entire episode but it's important to watch some of it. So this former teacher was caught having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student. Instead of owning up to her actions, she SUES the students for taking a 10-second clip of them together. I will say it was wrong of the student for videotaping their sexual interaction, however, the teacher, Tanya Ramirez, should not have been doing that. According to Ramirez's account, the student pursued her and asked for her number. She could have said no and that it was inappropriate to ask, but instead she gave it to him.
Again, the student was 17 at the time and started having a relationship with a teacher. Though it wasn't his teacher, it was a teacher who worked at his school. According to the student, Ramirez was the one who PERSUED him. Then she is charged and she decides to sue him. I understand for releasing the 10-second clip without her consent and knowledge, however, she sues him for "defamation of character". She decided to have a relationship with him. that's not his fault that she chose to groom him. Yes, I said groom. She was 29-30 years old at the time this happened. The student, again, was 17. He was a minor. This concludes that she is/was a predator.
This happened in 2014. To my knowledge and research, which was last updated in 2018, she did get charged and sentenced to 7 years of probation for having a student-teacher relationship (a second-degree felony). She also had to get rid of her license. However, she took a plea deal where she wasn't registered as a sex offender. That is not acceptable.
Imagine if it was a male teacher with a female student. There would be much more backlash and there would be harsher punishments. This is why I say women have more rights than men. They get off more easily than men when it comes to things like this. Women are able to get away with things that men would be forever harassed and punished by.
Now, this is why I don't like modern day feminism. If it was from back when women were fighting for their rights to vote or something, that would be okay. Today, though, it's a lot of man-hating, hypocritical women who have a few extra advantages than men. There is more I would talk about, some of which I mentioned slightly at the beginning of this post, but think that's enough for now.
Tell me what you think in regard to this, and thank you for reading my diary,
